Inspired by autistic advocates, Rose is a natural leader with a big heart who believes every brain is awesome. When she was nervous about volunteering at the community Fair, she decided to build understanding and help others feel comfortable too. That’s why she created a bold “awesomely autistic” t-shirt: so others would understand why she might wear ear protectors and need extra support in a busy, loud environment. For Rose, having invisible differences can be especially tough - sometimes kids or adults mistake her behavior or question needed supports, which can lead to feelings of shame or isolation. By being open about her experiences, she hopes to encourage other autistic kids to ask for what they need without fear of looking different. Proudly wearing her shirt and using supports, she’s making inclusion visible and empowering everyone to be themselves and shine. This has inspired her to become an advocate and spark conversations to help others, of all ages, learn about neurodiversity and break down stigma.
